Kathy Cabero, Optometric Assistant
As the optometric assistant at 20/20 Optometry, I couldn't have hoped for a better opportunity. Working here has become a huge step toward my dream of becoming an optometrist. Being surrounded with such experienced doctors and staff is truly incomparable. To me, every day is a learning experience not only through the doctors, but through the patients as well. As far as what I do, my duties here include, but are not limited to pre-testing patients, ordering lenses, and checking in glasses.
My exposure to the optometry field started at a young age when I got my first pair of glasses in the fifth grade. Since then, I've have visited many different optometry offices to get my eyes checked and have more than a dozen pairs of glasses. I can proudly say that with all of the offices I have been to, I have never seen as much specialty
and utmost care from our doctors when working with the patients. With the use of our advanced technology, helping our patients has never been easier.
Aside from work, I was born and raised in the east Bay Area and came to San Jose for school. In spring 2014 I completed my undergrad degree from San Jose State University, receiving a B.A in Biology. I'm a very happy-go-lucky person and you can always catch me laughing about almost anything. I enjoy spending time with my friends and taking long drives to visit my family. Now that I've graduated, I plan on taking some time to relax, catch up on reading, and try to do a little traveling.
