Dr. Isabella Yu, Optometrist
Dr. Isabella Yu received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Biology with a minor in Psychology from the University of California, Davis. She continued her education at UC Berkeley School of Optometry where she obtained her doctorate degree with the highest scope of practice that includes therapeutic and glaucoma certification.
During her clinical externships at the Meredith Morgan Eye Center, San Francisco VA, Livermore VA, and Vandenberg Air Force Base, she cared for a wide array of patients from young infants to elders. Her extensive clinical training included high exposure to diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. She participated in a medical humanitarian trip to Belize to provide eye care for the underserved communities in 2012.
Here in the Bay Area, she has participated in various vision screenings to educate patients about the importance of eye exams and ocular diseases. She is a member of the California Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and the Santa Clara County Optometric Society.
Dr. Yu is a Bay Area native and enjoys being in the great outdoors, whether it is discovering a new hiking trail, visiting a national park, training for a half marathon, or simply spending quality time with her family, friends, and Basset/Labrador dog, Diggy.
